Scholarship Policy

The IFIM Scholarship is intended to encourage meritorious students who demonstrate academic excellence and enable those in financial need to pursue law and qualify as a legal professional. The scholarship is a way to demonstrate IFIM’s contribution to social responsibility and its commitment towards nation building. The scholarships are awarded and supported by the generous grant made available every year under the VB Padode Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship letter will be issued to the eligible student as mentioned in annexure 04.

Scope

  1. The IFIM Institutions Scholarship is available to all eligible students of BBA, BBA-KPMG B. Com., BCA, BCA AI, MBA programs for the academic year 2025-26.
  2. Scholarships will be offered to students who meet the requirements and criteria as stated in the guidelines for the scholarship.

Objective

  1. To provide a transparent mechanism to facilitate scholarships to prospective students joining various programs offered at IFIM Institutions.
  2. Adoption of Standard Operating Procedures in matters related to scholarships to prospective students joining various programs offered at IFIM Institutions.

Policy Owner

The primary owner of the policy shall be the Principal IFIM College/IFIM Law School who will take the final decision in case of matters related to scholarship fees. However, the secondary ownership will lie with the Chairperson Admissions of UG & PG respectively who will take all the requisite steps to retain the student and give their final recommendation to the Policy Owner. The policy owner needs to insure that at any time the total scholarship amount should not exceed 10% of the revenue of the total fees of admitted students of the academic year 2025.

Applicability

VB Padode Foundation Scholarship is applicable to student/s pursuing BBA, BBA KPMG, B. Com., BCA, BCA AI, MBA courses at IFIM College, Bangalore. The scholarship will be based on 4 categories: Merit-Based Scholarship, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Based Scholarship, Siblings Scholarship, Sports Scholarship & Local Community.

  • Eligibility of Merit Based Scholarships
  • The scholarship policy is applicable only to management quota students for PG Program. In the case of UG program, 30% of the seats is allotted to In State Quota students. A fee waiver for these students is in built into the fee structure of B.B.A and B.Com. B.C.A is excluded. Scholarships are not applicable for in state quota students

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP

The candidate should have participated and won in the District/ State or National level sports/ games conducted by the competent authority approved by the government (State / Central). A student who has represented the state in any competition conducted between the last two consecutive calendar years at the national level in Individual/ Team/s approved by the Ministry of Sports/ Sports Federation/ AIU. The student must obtain a certificate from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ National Federation/ Board of concerned games only. The scholarship under this category is subject to approval of the scholarship committee. Number of scholarships available in UG Programmes is 3 and PG Programmes is 2. The total number of sports scholarships available is 5.

SIBLINGS SCHOLARSHIP

10% Scholarship on tuition fee whose siblings (blood relation) studying/same batch in IFIM Institutions provided the sibling has scored more than 75% in the XIIth. This needs to be evidenced by informing the roll number of the sibling, year in which admitted and the course that the sibling is pursuing at IFIM college. Document reflecting parent’s details of the student needs to be provided along with the Application form as evidence. Sibling scholarship will not be available to MBA students. 

Special Category Students

Students from different categories:
We adopt different strategies to improve access to the students falling under various categories as prescribed by the state and central Government like – SC/ ST, OBC, Women, Person with disability (PwD), EWS and for outstanding performance in Sports, extracurricular activities . The student falling under such categories are provided admission, relaxing the minimum eligibility criteria. They are encouraged to apply for the Govt. scholarships through National Scholarship portal (NSP) and State Scholarship Portal (SSP).

International students/Students having foreign degree or certificate:
Students having foreign degree or certificate should provide equivalency certificate from
Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Refer www.aiu.in for the full list of foreign qualifications as equivalent to the Pre-University or 10+2/12th Grade qualification of India for the admission in Indian Universities/ Colleges. The students can apply on the AIU portal and get the certificate within a fortnight.
*Students belonging to Jharkhand & West Bengal state can avail the facility of Students’ Credit card scheme.

 

Guidelines

  1. Only a single scholarship can be availed by a student for complete duration of the course.
  2. Students will be awarded scholarships on a first-come-first-served basis within each category that they are eligible for and there are limited number of scholarships under each category.
  3. Students must apply for the scholarship along with all the supporting documents.
  4. Information provided by the student, if found inaccurate the scholarship will be automatically cancelled.
  5. Applying for the scholarship in no way guarantees for the scholarship to be awarded. The decision of the scholarship committee will determine whether the
  6. scholarship can be awarded or not.
    Scholarship will only be considered if applied within the stipulated deadline.
  7. Decision of the scholarship committee would be final and binding.

Conditions for scholarship renewal

  1. Students must maintain 80% and above in each semester throughout the Program.
  2. Attendance should be 80% and above throughout.
  3. No backlogs in any of the semesters during the course of study.
  4. Students must refrain from activities which result in disciplinary action.
  5. Renewal of scholarship must be done on time with submission of the copy of marksheet of each semester.
  6. Students should not have a gap in academics during the course of their study.
  7. The student would be considered only for one scholarship throughout the program.

Conditions for scholarship renewal

The primary objective of the admissions team is to identify and offer academic scholarships to the deserving candidates. The number of candidates must not exceed the limit mentioned in the policy.
In addition to the criteria mentioned in the admissions policy, an academic scholarship to an extent of 25% in the first year may be extended to a student with an LOR from the school principal.
Any increase in number of scholarships to be ratified by Principal and Chairman.
