Description: Koffee with IIP is a series of episodes organized by the Internships and Placements Committee of IFIM School of Law to provide a platform for students to get insight and true knowledge of the practical legal world. The series aims to help the students choose the right path toward a promising future by having direct interaction with Judges, Advocates, Alumni, and Industry experts.

The Koffee with IIP series comprised of three episodes over the past year, each covering a diverse range of topics.

• Episode 1:

The first episode of the Koffee with IIP series was held on 3rd December 2022 on Zoom. The guest speaker for this episode was Ms. Sakshi Gupta, a notable alumnus of IFIM School of Law and is currently a Legal Executive at Puravankara Ltd. Ms. Gupta shared her experiences and insights on the topic of “Why Internships are Important.” She highlighted the importance of internships in developing professional skills and building a strong network in the legal industry. Ms. Gupta’s personal journey and achievements in securing multiple pre-placements offers during her law school journey served as an inspiration to the students.

• Episode 2:

The second episode of the series was held on 16th December 2022 at the Moot Court Hall, IFIM School of Law. The guest speaker for this episode was Dr. Asha P Soman, who has 10+ years of experience in academia and industry and is currently a faculty member of the law school. Dr. Soman spoke on the topic of “Air and Space Law,” drawing on her research and industry experience. She discussed the legal aspects of air and space travel and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this field. The session provided an opportunity for the students to gain insights into a specialized area of law.

• Episode 3:

The third episode of the series was held on 16th January 2023 at the Moot Court Hall, IFIM School of Law. The guest speaker for this episode was Ms. Shwetha Devgan, who has 10+ years of experience in the education management industry. Ms. Devgan shared her insights on the

topic of “How to crack the Indian Judiciary Exam,” drawing on her personal experience as an advocate at the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. She provided guidance and tips for students aspiring to clear the Indian Judiciary Exam and pursue a career in the judiciary.

Outcomes:

The Koffee with IIP series provided a unique opportunity for the students of IFIM School of Law to interact with eminent professionals from the legal industry. The diverse topics covered in the series provided the students with insights into various areas of law and legal practice. The series was well received by the students and served as a valuable resource in helping them choose the right path toward a promising future in the legal profession.
