BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (B.Com.)
The B. Com. program offered by the Department of Commerce is a three-year para professional under graduate degree program of Bangalore University and accepted well by the industry, Government and private sectors.
The curriculum is so designed that it provides students best of opportunities and a launching pad for careers as well as higher studies in the area of Commerce and Trade.
The department acts as a nurturing ground for the holistic development of the students, so that they make effective contribution to society.
The excellent academic environment with a judicious mixture of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities empowers the students of B.Com. to thrive in a fast-paced and exciting learning environment. Classroom lectures, projects and case studies form the components of teaching methodology.
IFIM College provides two different types of programs under B.Com.
B.Com. (General):
B.Com. (General) is a general form of program. This program covers the various aspects of Commerce. Providing, Languages, Management, Finance, Finance Management, Cost Management, Marketing, Business Law, Taxation, Corporate Administration, Business Analysis, Audit and Assurance, Banking, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics, Business Regulation, E-business, Public Relation and Corporate Communication. This program also provides Open Electives every semester (according to NEP) which includes: Accounting and Taxation, Finance; Information and Technology, Banking and Innovation; Marketing; Journalism; Psychology; and Business Leadership Skills.
The Program is driven by various skilled professor with high level knowledge providing practical and general knowledge about commerce.
B.Com. (ACCA):
B.Com. ACCA is a general plus ACCA form of program.
This program covers the various aspects of Commerce. Providing, Languages, Management, Finance, Marketing, Law, Taxation, Corporate Administration, Business Analysis, Audit and Assurance, Banking, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics, E-business, Public Relation and Corporate Communication. This program also provides Open Electives every semester (according to NEP) which includes: Accounting and Taxation, Finance; Information and Technology, Banking and Innovation; Marketing; Journalism; Psychology; and Business Leadership Skills.
With this subjects, the Program ACCA provides 13 papers with 6 paper exemption. The subjects includes –
The Program is driven by various skilled professor with high level knowledge providing practical and general knowledge about commerce. ACCA affiliated professors are been provided to students to enhance their knowledge for ACCA.
The Department of commerce also provide additional courses to student to develop and enhance their skill and knowledge. The addition courses are – Mathematics and statistics; Economics; Entrepreneurship; Advanced Excel; Personality Enhancement Program.
With the depth of making a student future bright the college also focuses on developing the skills of student in professional world by training them under ‘PERSONALITY ENHANCEMENT PRGRAM’, where the student learns and develop their communication, leadership, group discussion and presentation skills. This also includes building their resume and improve their personality traits.
The students are given tasks; assignment; projects; activities to explore the depth of Commerce and its role in every sector. Projects include – Social Immersion Project and Internship.
The students are taken for regular Industrial visits and out bond activities to boost their mind and body.
