The 12th edition of Kanyathon #RunForHer, a student-driven annual charity run, was a huge success with over 10,000 registrations from students, working professionals, and families who came together to run for a cause. This student-driven annual charity run, aimed at empowering women and educating the girl child, was organized by IFIM Institutions, Vijaybhoomi University, and JAGSoM, and held at Infosys Leisure Ground, Bangalore.
We were honoured to have Nandita Chandrashekhar Nagangoudar, an International Mountaineer, as our Chief Guest, and Mr. Bhawesh Kumar, President of ELCIA, Vice-Chairman of ELCIA Trust, Mr. Mullai Muhilan, IAS, Commissioner, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, and Ms. Shobha Veigas, Capacity building lead, UNDP, as our Guests of Honour.
Participants in various categories, such as pro run, family run, fun run, and walkathon, gave it their all and showed their support for the cause. Winners were awarded cash prizes of up to 25k, but more than that, everyone who participated helped make a difference in the lives of women and girls.
The event was a fun-filled morning for families, with a live band, dance performances, games, and activities for children. Refreshments were available for everyone to enjoy, ensuring that no one went hungry or thirsty during the event.
We’re so grateful to all the participants, guests of honour, and sponsors who made this event a success! Kanyathon #runforher is a purpose-driven event that aims to bring people of all ages together to have a good time while supporting a worthy cause. We hope to see you all at the next edition of Kanyathon! Till then let’s continue to empower women and educate the girl child together.
